What’s New

CEREC

After much investigation, multiple seminars and extensive training sessions, we are excited to offer CEREC to our patients!  CEREC is a computerized milling machine that allows us to create beautiful crowns and onlays in only one visit.

We know your time is valuable, and no one looks forward to time spent in the dental chair regardless of how comfortable the visit may be.  This state of the art technology allows us to provide you with a high quality result with less complexity in the procedure for you as a patient.

Allow me to explain, CEREC is a CAD/CAM device that is utilized to create precise long lasting crowns, inlays, and onlays. CAD meaning a computer aided design, and CAM meaning computer aided manufacture. In short, we can create lab quality dental work in our office with the aid of a computer and a special milling machine that will create dental restorations from a block of porcelain.

The CEREC possesses the technology to scan your teeth as it relies on my expertise in the final production of your crown.  There are no temporary teeth to be placed in the mouth for a few weeks.  The CEREC also eliminates the need for initial and final impressions as well. The impression phase is a major factor that we know delays treatment for some patients.

These benefits alone are extremely practical and time saving for our patients.  I am offering my patients another example of “state of the art” dentistry with the CEREC.  Its technology will offer more choices, easier visits, and scheduling issues will be simplified.

We are excited to share the CEREC device with you!  Also, don’t forget about our “Care to Share” program!!

Dr. Makrauer: A “Fellow”, Twice Over!

“Fellow” is generally thought of as a casual reference to a man. But in the dental professional, being a Fellow is anything but casual.

This prestigious designation is awarded by several of the predominant professional organizations in the dental community only after years of dedicated training, experience and effort. To enter the ranks of Fellowship is a significant achievement; doing it twice in a four-month period is something truly special.

But that’s just what our own Dr. Makrauer did in 2007. Not only was he awarded a Fellowship by the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), he was also honored with a Fellow designation from the International Team of Implantology (ITI) of Basel, Switzerland. (Click here to learn more.)
