Invisalign™

You can now change your smile to beautiful straight teeth without unsightly braces. Often called invisible braces, Invisalign™ is the latest technology for straightening teeth. This process involves wearing a clear aligner over the teeth which is worn twenty four hours a day, and only removed for cleaning the teeth or eating. To start the process, Dr. Makrauer will take very accurate impressions of your teeth which are then sent to the Invisalign™ laboratory. In the laboratory a series of custom aligners are created to fit over the teeth, and a digital image is taken so that you can actually see how the teeth will be moved into position, and exactly how the teeth will look at the end of treatment. At this point it can be determined exactly how long it will take to align the teeth. Once you and Dr. Makrauer approve the treatment plan the aligners will be fabricated. Each set will be worn for two weeks. At the end of the six week period you return to the office to receive your next set of three. This process continues until all the aligners are used and takes from six to eighteen months, depending on the amount of tooth movement that is required.
